About the venue
London Canal Museum is an unusual and attractive place for your wedding or civil partnership. There is something about water that adds extra romance to the most romantic day in your life! You can arrive by boat for an extra special touch. Even if a cruise won't fit into your schedule, the attractive, tranquil urban beauty spot that is Battlebridge Basin is a great setting and our Victorian heritage building provides an attractive backdrop to the ceremony and celebration, surrounded by exhibits.
It is very close to King’s Cross station – one of the most accessible locations in Europe – but in a peaceful world apart from the city.
The museum is on two floors. Ceremonies can be on either floor but most take place under our impressive barn-like timber roof on the first floor. The walls are of natural brick, often enhanced by lighting. We’ve got character in abundance. The ground floor is used for drinks whilst upstairs is prepared for dining. The two floors allow guests to move around and mix, and there is always something to talk about! It is a tried and proven formula for a great wedding, with dancing until late on available dates. We are fully accessible to disabled guests.
There are lots of opportunities to customise the way your ceremony will be planned, and the décor and layout. We provide a range of services from chair covers to loudspeakers but we don’t do food: you choose your own caterer with no corkage or commission charges to pay. Our track record goes back to 1998 and hundreds of weddings and civil partnerships have been celebrated under our roof.
